Professional info

Dr. Brunson holds degrees in music education, orchestral conducting, and instrumental conducting. During his career he has taught at both the high school and the college level. He is equally comfortable directing choirs, wind bands, and orchestras. He has also directed jazz and percussion groups.

​

Dr. Brunson teaches private lessons in piano and brass instruments, especially French horn. He has been an active clinician in Utah, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Indiana. He has guest conducted groups across the United States and in Europe.

The Taylorsville Symphony Orchestra began in 2004 as a community  arts outreach organization for the City of Taylorsville, UT.  It quickly grew in size and musicianship.  Salt Lake Community College approached the orchestra to request that its music students who wanted orchestral playing experience be allowed to be a part of the ensemble for credit.  That partnership has proved fruitful for both the College and the orchestra.
